How Words Look Activities 

Complete these tasks in your spelling homework book.

1.  For each word count how many vowels and consonants it has and how many letters in total it has; Make a list showing your words.
For example:
shadow: 2 vowels and 4 consonants. 6 letters in total
cartoon: 3 vowels and 4 consonants. 7 letters in total

2.  Draw the shape around each of these words.

3.  Underline the tricky parts of each of the words.

4.  Ask someone to test your spelling with a look, cover, say, check test.
